Nothin’ but love for the Lompoc!

June 11, 2009

c note Nothin but love for the Lompoc!lompoc Nothin but love for the Lompoc!Portland’s New Old Lompoc Brewery was a personal favorite of mine when I had the good fortune of living in the Northwest neighborhood near their 23rd Avec note Nothin but love for the Lompoc! location. They feature bold brews with creativity, style and consistency. At last the time has come that Bend has been blessed with their delicious beers!

Now on draught we proudly feature Old Lompoc C-Note. Is the name C-Note a cheeky reference to the 100 IBU’s this Imperial Pale Ale boasts? Probably. Is it a nod to the all C-named hops (including Cluster, Centennial, Cascade, Challenger, Columbus, Crystal and Chinook) which tickle the taste buds? Absolutely. While the multitude of hops power some big bitterness and flavors of citrus, earth and pine they get balanced out with bold malt flavors at the front end. This one is a welcome addition to our lineup that hop heads will love!

Cloudy Skies Bring Delicious Cloudy Beer!

weihen Cloudy Skies Bring Delicious Cloudy Beer!Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is here! After falling head-over-heels for their Korbinian Doppelbock, which we featured throughout Winter, it was time for us to make the move to their Hefe for some summertime bliss. An immediate staff favorite, this cloudy wheat beer embodies the soul of German Hefe. With it’s light aroma featuring inviting yeast, citrus and spices you’re drawn into the first sip where you’re welcomed with the classic fruity characteristics of banana, clove and bubblegum. These flavors play nicely across your palate, accompanied by the softness provided by the wheat, while the clean and slightly dry finish leaves you feeling refreshed and looking forward to another taste. Ratebeer.com places this one at a mighty 96 out of 100 while beeradvocate.com gives it a solid A. We’ve got it on draught now so come on in and experience this Bavarian beauty for yourself!
