Independent Film is back in Bend – make sure you check out a movie this week. But more thank anything make sure you check out the after party this Saturday evening for cocktails named and based on the films themselves, DJ Cojac (PDX based dj who plays some of the biggest clubs in the city), and a whole lot of good cheer.
What to do in Bend on a Saturday night?
Sounds like there is a party brewin at The Smith.
Party begins at 10 p.m.

I have a stack of names of people interested in cocktail class but I’d like to find a date that will work for everyone. We usually do it on a Saturday afternoon – but a Sunday afternoon could work too. Please put your comments in the comments to this blog post and we’ll find a time that works for the most people possible.
What is cocktail class?
Confused what to buy when you go into the liquor store? Sick of mixing flavored vodka with 7-up or juice? Want to invite people over for drinks but are intimidated by what to make them? The solution is here. The Blacksmith offers Tipsy, a cocktail class taught by one of the nation’s top mixologists, Columbine Quillen, in conjunction with Crater Lake Vodka and Bendistillery. It’s fun, it’s easy, and you’ll leave with an arsenal that will make you the Rachel Ray of mixology.

Spend a pleasant afternoon at the Blacksmith with Mixologist Columbine Quillen talking about the history of your favorite liquors, creating fabulous cocktails, and hanging out with your friends. Skills taught include learning how to balance the acid in a perfectly blended drink, the art of infusions and syrups, and garnishes that are sure to impress. Reservations are required as space is limited. Must be over 21 or over as price includes three cocktails and appetizers.
